Intramuros used to be a cradle of religion veneration and of eclectic artistry exhibited in seven churches: Manila Cathedral, San Agustin, Santo Domingo, San Francisco, San Nicolas de Tolentino, San Ignacio and Lourdes. While the number seven is debated, the moniker is understandably made as an allusion to the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
